Food bank visits have increased by five per cent since 2019 to 131,000 annual visits across the province, said Food Banks B.C.
B.C. liquor and cannabis store customers have collectively raised close to $950,000 for local food banks during a holiday campaign.
The fundraising campaign raised $942,168 from Nov. 12 to Dec. 31 in support of Food Banks B.C., which supports 106 food banks throughout the province.
